As a PH Advanced Practice RN within the Cherokee County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Location: Cherokee County Health Department in Canton, GA.

Job Responsibilities

Under supervision of a senior APRN, performs advanced nursing functions and healthcare services in specialized areas. Operates under a written nurse protocol agreement with their delegating physician, conducts complete physicals, provides treatment, and counsels clients. May prescribe medication in some cases.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Will provide family planning/women's health clinical services in Cherokee County at the Canton and Woodstock clinics.
• Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests as indicated.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Instructs and counsels clients regarding women's health, family planning, contraceptive options and effectiveness, health maintenance, and prescribed therapeutic regimens.
• Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients.
• Obtains, compiles, and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, IUD, and implant insertions.
• Prescribes therapy or medication according to protocol.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as an APRN AND CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public health experience.
• Women's health experience.
• Experience with insertion of IUD's and implants.

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
